Wear Diabetes-Specific Socks
Use the seamless, moisture-wicking socks you wear daily to simulate real-world conditions.
Check Length and Width
There should be about 1–1.5 cm of space between the longest toe and the front of the shoe to ensure toes don’t press against the shoe when standing.
The shoe width should allow the foot to spread naturally without side pressure.
Walk and Test
Walk in the shoes for 5–10 minutes in the store to check for any friction points, pressure, or slipping.
Ensure toes do not curl or jam against the shoe while walking.
Inspect the Interior by Hand
Run your hand inside the shoe to check for uneven seams, staples, or rough spots that could cause hidden irritation.
